COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – (Sponsored by Richland County Recreation Commission) Did you know there are educational and cultural events happening all around Richland County that you can take part in?

Richland County Recreation Commission (RCRC) strives to empower Richland County residents with a wide range of activities that get minds and bodies active, but events that incorporate culture and education are also an important part of the RCRC mission.

Throughout the month of February, RCRC hosts Black History Month events that include poetry readings, skits, storytelling, and more. The events also provide opportunities to honor Richland County Residents who have contributed positively to the community.

RCRC Acting Executive Director, Taurus Lewis, explains the importance of providing educational and cultural outreach programs all around Richland County while Recreation Supervisor Ira Thomas tells Soda City Living what makes the Lower Richland parks so special.
