Caughman Road Park offers programs and activities that enrich the quality of life for people of all ages and abilities. Caughman Road Park has been considered a recreational home for many families in Southeast Richland County for over 20 years. Located just off of Garners Ferry Road (Hwy 378), just a few miles from the City of Columbia, this 20-acre park features an oak-lined entrance, a gymnasium, multi-use athletic fields, tennis courts, and a walking trail. The park also features two large picnic shelters that are perfect for family cookouts and gatherings. Participation in sports and other activities at Caughman Road Park is an excellent way to ensure emotional regulation while reducing frustration and conflict. The recreation center provides a safe place for physical activity, contributes to community cohesion, prevents crime, and offers educational opportunities. Amidst the obesity crisis, this facility is regarded by many in the community as a health necessity.
