Summer Camps

The Recreation Commission offers great summer programs which provide children with unique and affordable opportunities.  They will enjoy  fun recreational activities such as swimming, exciting field trips, and creative arts & crafts projects in a safe environment with trained staff.

Education & Experience Requirements for Summer Camp Employment:

Directors and Assistant Directors –Must be at least 21 years of age and have an Associate’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree or a valid high school diploma or General Educational Development Certificate (GED), with three (3) years experience as a caregiver in a licensed/approved/registered childcare facility and a plan to complete the Certificate in Child Development/Early Childhood or a DSS ABC approved credential/certificate/diploma/degree within three years. You will be required to provide proof of education if hired.

Counselors – Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid high school diploma or General Educational Development Certificate (GED) and at least six (6) months experience as a caregiver in a licensed/approved child care facility.

EARLY REGISTRATION DATES: MARCH 5-APRIL 30
EARLY REGISTRATION FEE ENDS APRIL 30: $20 PER CHILD

 

SUMMER OF ADVENTURES DAY CAMPS
June 5-August 11 (10 week program)

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday: 7:00 am-6:00 pm
Children ages: 5-12 (must be 5 to register for camp)
Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $25.00 per child; Weekly Rate: $90.00 per child ($5.00 weekly sibling discount, 1st child pays the full amount; 2nd and any additional children are allowed the discount)

• Experienced and trained DSS certified staff • Nutrition Education Program with The Organ Wise Guys (OWG)
• Fun recreational games • Turn Up the Heat (Healthy Eating & Activity Time) in partnership with USC PY2P (Policy to Practice in Youth Programs)
• Arts & crafts • Swimming
• Field Trips • Summer meals provided by The Ray of Hope Feeding Program
