Hopkins Park Pool 

 

SCOPE OF WORK/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Hopkins Park Pool: 150 Hopkins Park Road, Hopkins, SC 29061

Hopkins Park pool and pool house are currently under renovation. The project renovation shall include a complete overhaul of the existing pool to include new decking, tiling, replastering of the pool walls, lifts, and rinse station. The pool house shall have new fixtures, stalls, plumbing, paint and lighting in the bathroom. A completely renovated office to include a storage area, a serving window, and an observation window. The pump room will house new piping, pumps, filters, and an electrical panel. The entire interior will be covered with a fresh coat of paint on the walls, stained rafters, and epoxy flooring. A new shelter shall be constructed for the patrons’ use and new boarder fencing will be installed to provide safety and security.

All plaster has been removed from the concrete pool shell. Steel rebar rough-in for pool bottom and new sun-shelf nearly complete. New skimmers have been installed. Next steps will be miscellaneous grading of the deck area and plumbing for filtration. Plumbing for the pool house restrooms and showers is well underway.

  • The pool is ready for inspection and ready for shotcrete installation…awaiting DHEC approval.
  • The Picnic Shelter truss have been ordered (6-8 weeks lead time).
  • Plumbing inspection was performed and passed.
  • Bath floors will be poured this week.
  • Masonry is scheduled to start next week.
  • Pool plans have been re-submitted to DHEC for review and permitting.
  • The storm drain materials are to be delivered next week.

We have made good progress through the storm this week and last. All CMU walls are installed in the building. We are installing storm drain material currently. The tile and coping are being installed on the pool this week. We are set to install Shotcrete on the pool Monday next week. We have received DHEC approval. We plan on starting the picnic shelter installation next week as well. Trusses have been delivered and framing material are set to be delivered. 

    All of the clay dirt in the photos is being replaced with a mix of crusher-run and sand.
