Why Donate?

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill

Richland County Recreation Commission receives operational funding from Richland County property tax revenue. However, additional funding is needed from private and corporate supporters to provide programs and services to our patrons and communities in a clean, safe and well maintained environment.

Parks are such constants in our lives that we tend to overlook them. Our communities just wouldn’t be the same if children didn’t have a place to play or run around or if adults didn’t have a place to exercise and socialize. Parks are crucial parts of our neighborhoods and communities. By donating to the Richland County Recreation Foundation you can help to ensure that everyone is provided with a safe forum to enjoy nature and each other.

Ways to Give

1. General Support (cash, checks and credit donation)
Gifts that enhance programming and provide infrastructure repair where needed.
(Examples: Tennis court resurfacing, Athletic field and playground repairs.)

2. Scholarship Funds
Based on certain qualifications this allows less fortunate children/seniors to participate in recreational programs.
(Examples: Swimming lessons, youth sports and senior center field trips.)

3. Naming Rights
These gifts offer brand exposure, recognition and distinction as a community partner and the funds go to support programming and facility improvements where needed.
(Examples: RCRC publications, sports complexes and/or youth sport leagues.)

4.  Bequests
A gift made at death by an individual through a will or trust.  Can be made for a specific amount of money or a percentage of the estate.

5. Brick Fundraiser
Leave your mark on RCRC by purchasing a personalized commemorative brick. Bricks will permanently be featured in a court yard at the new RCRC Administrative Building.
(Examples: Personalize a brick with your name, dedicate a brick to your children, mother, friend or honor the memory of someone you love. The money raised will go towards programming and facility improvements)

Find Out More
With your generosity the Richland County Recreation Foundation believes it can help RCRC continue to have a positive impact on the lives of those in our community. We understand the importance of recreation activities and the increasing need to offer programs that give people an opportunity to interact and exercise in a healthy and social environment. While recreation activities positively impact your physical health, studies have shown that children, adults and seniors who are active in social activities and events are also mentally and emotionally more healthy. With such a large number of programs and services offered by RCRC, every member of the community can benefit in his or her own way. Whether you’re playing soccer or baseball in our leagues, taking a field trip with the seniors, sharing stories with other veterans in our Veterans Victory Room, or playing adaptive recreation sports in the Challenger league there really is something for everyone.
