Summer of Adventures Day Camp Scholarship
Application Submission Begins: April 10, 2017 • Application Submission Deadline: May 12, 2017.
The Richland County Recreation Foundation (RCRF) Summer of Adventures Day Camp Scholarship’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to assist five youth attending the Richland County Recreation Commission (RCRC) Summer of Adventures Day Camp whose family may be dealing with an unexpected hardship. RCRF plays a vital role in contributing to the economic and environmental well-being of our community. With this scholarship, we are continuing our “Community First” efforts by awarding five recipients a scholarship to cover half of the cost of the RCRC Summer of Adventures Day Camp for the 2017 Summer.
QUALIFIED FULL DAY CAMP SITES ONLY:

• Blythewood Park
• Caughman Road Park
• Forest Lake Park
• Friarsgate Park
• Hopkins Park
• Killian Park
• Meadowlake Park
• North Springs Park
• Polo Road Park
• St. Andrews Park
Any Richland County resident youth ages 5-12 who meets the RCRF Summer of Adventures Day Camp Scholarship criteria.
Criteria: 1) Parent/Guardian must submit a RCRF Summer of Adventures Day Camp Scholarship Application;
2) Parent/Guardian must attach a letter explaining in 250 words or less why you are seeking financial assistance and how
this scholarship will assist your family.
• Individuals cannot be currently served by an existing scholarship or fee waiver program
• Individuals must be Richland County Residents
RCRF SUMMER OF ADVENTURES DAY CAMP Scholarship Information:
Supplemental scholarships are limited to one award per family member per year. Incomplete or misleading applications will be rejected. Misleading application information or expulsion from the Summer of Adventures Day Camp will result in scholarship probation for a period of one year. Scholarships are awarded based on the specified criteria.
Application Information (Complete one application per participant):
Recipients will be notified by phone or email after application submission. If approved, recipients will be issued an award letter and confirmation outlining the specific details. The scholarship program is separate from the registration process. Please fill out a RCRC Summer of Adventures Day Camp registration form. Any outstanding fees must be paid by the parent/guardian at the time of registration.
Scholarship Funding Process:
The scholarship is meant to offset the cost (50%) of the RCRC Summer of Adventures Day Camp, for families economically challenged or dealing with a current hardship. Applicants must provide information that supports the financial need. If information is falsified, applicant will no longer be considered eligible for a scholarship for one calendar year. Each applicant must be verified based upon the criteria listed in the scholarship guidelines. Exceptions will be at the discretion of the Foundation.
Applications can be picked up at all RCRC Summer of Adventures Day Camp sites or downloaded online at the above link. Please return completed application to your selected summer camp site.
