Adult Services

Pumpkin Patch Trip

We are committed to offering adults a variety of leisure and fitness experiences to choose from throughout the year. Regular exercise and physical activity are important to the physical and mental health of almost everyone, including older adults. Being physically active can help you continue to do the things you enjoy and stay independent as you get older. We offer adult programs and activities at our Adult Activity Center, which is available only to adults ages 21+, and also in our recreation and community centers.

Upcoming Events

Strong to the Finish Senior Mile

Join me in encouraging our RCRC senior patrons to register now! Registration is limited to 120 patrons and our events usually sell out. $15 per person includes a LIGHT and HEALTHY lunch box from PDQ Tenders, custom made finisher’s medal, inspiration station goodies, fun, fitness, fellowship and of course finish line photos. Brooke Brittian, our DHEC Healthy Cooking Partner, will be the guest speaker during lunch and will introduce their FREE “Walk With Ease” Program.

Pre-registration, including payment in full is required and is due at the time of registration. We will not accept payments/registration the day of the event. Seniors should dress for the weather and walking shoes are required. (Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are suggested. Water, restroom and rest area at the half way point. No vehicular traffic, safe course. Seniors will walk from the side driveway at the Garners Ferry Adult Activity Center to the athletic fields (around both soccer fields) and back to the AAC. Distance is one mile. There will be several “inspiration” stations along the route and the seniors will collect surprises as they make their way to the finish line. This is not a RACE! The emphasis is on participation, keeping the pace steady and perseverance. Our theme is inspired by Aesop’s Fable, The Tortoise and The Hare!
